Friday, I worked until 6pm and met with up with an old friend at Tavola restaurant at the Springfield Country Club.
Saturday, I tried to sleep in, but couldn’t. I wake up at 7:30am on Saturday morning. I swear I will sleep in past 8am one of these days! As you guys know, I budget $50 for weekend plans. With this $50, I went to Ulta Beauty to buy toner, body lotion, and face wash. I spent less than $30, so I had $10 and change. I read about how a mom uses the envelope system to budget their money and I use the method too. My grandmom showed me that way when I got my first job at 14 years old. However, she uses a small file accordion instead of envelopes. I went to Target to find one. She said she found her’s at Target in the dollar bin section. I couldn’t find one, so I’ll continue using my labeled envelopes until I find one.
Saturday night, I took my niece to church at St. Pius X. I gave $2 to the church as part of tithing. Afterwards, I met up with the youth group from Manoa Community Church. I enjoyed fun and fellowship with the youth from the church while watch The Lion King 1 1/2 for the fifteenth time. I’d rather spend my Saturday nights like this rather than going out and wasting money at a bar,
Sunday I worked until 6pm. I had that $10 left over, so I was able to go to Wawa to get a Pumpkin Spice coffee, a bagle sandwich, and the Sunday Times. After work, I went to the evening service at Manoa Community Church, where I used to go every Sunday. I still had some money left over to give to the church and to mission work in Peru- $2 in total!
This journey of being a single woman only just begun and I can’t wait to start this adventure- me, myself, and I!
