2016 Week 3 Check In: Weight Gain Weight Loss and Everything Healthy

After starting my new job on the 4th, I found it quite hard to keep up with my gym schedule. The first week was hard. I went to the gym everyday, but Tuesday. I started to slowly wake up at 5am to get to the gym. I’m now waking up at 4:45am to get to the gym. I used to do two a days, but I cannot anymore. I go to the gym in the morning and blog after dinner.

On January 3rd, Tone It Up and Self Magazine started an 8 week challenge called #SelfTIU. With this challenge, you get a  monthly workout calendar and can tailor your workouts with your schedule. What I found works best for me is 30 minutes of cardio followed by 2 to 3 rounds of strength training routines from Tone It Up. I really like their #LoveYourBody routines. I try to go to a fitness class at my gym and yoga at least twice a week.

I go on Groupon a lot to see if there is anything that may look fun when it comes to trying new fitness routines. After all, in order to achieve maximum weight loss you have to keep your body guessing. That’s why I never do the same routine everyday. Not only that, with this winter being mild I was able to start running outside again! Last Saturday, a friend and I went on a 5 mile run at Valley Forge National Park. I was feeling it the next day!

So far everything has been going good with sticking to my fitness routine and going to the gym daily. I’m so glad I fall in love with a habit that makes me a better person inside and out.

Here is my progress since my last weigh in…

Weight: 145.7 pounds


Day and Time taken: Thursday, 1/14/16, 6am

I’m going to buy a measuring tape to measure the inches lost on my waist, hips, and legs.

Here’s a selfie I took last Saturday. Next month, I’ll do the picture of me in my bikini. This week was too hectic with my work schedule that I couldn’t get my sister to take one while she was up.



My next weigh in will be February 7th. I’ll be able to compare my weight and inches lost to this weigh in. This is the first time I’ll be taking inches of my arms, waist, and thighs. I didn’t feel comfortable doing it last time.


What kind of workouts do you do? I love me some yoga, but I feel like everyone knows that. What’s your favorite workout? Anything new I should try?!
